William L. Everding
May 30, 1922 - October 13, 2016

William Leonard Everding, a son of Menno and Anna (Kruse) Everding, was born on May 30, 1922, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. He attended school at German Township #5 until the eighth grade. After school, he would help his dad on the farm. On March 25, 1956, he married Shirley Arnold at the Methodist Church in Lake Mills.

William farmed with his dad for many years. He, also, worked as a custodian at the Forest City Schools for three years and at Martings in Britt for a couple of years before returning to farming. He continued to farm until he retired at which time he and Shirley moved into town.

He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fixing things, visiting, and especially making others laugh.

William had a very strong faith in God. In his younger years, he taught catechism at the Ramsey Reformed Church. He, also, belonged to the Titonka United Methodist Church.

William, 94, died on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at his home. He is survived by Shirley, his wife of sixty years; his children, Steve Hodson, of Lake Mills, David (Renee) Everding, of Sibley, Lois (Myron) Heittola, of Bellville, Wisconsin, Amy (Tim) Kuehler, of Early; his son-in-law, Tim Palmer, of Forest City; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Katherina and Clara Everding, of Titonka.

Preceding him in death are his parents; an infant brother, Daniel; his sisters, Ruth and Margaret Everding; his daughter, Barb Palmer; his granddaughter, Kacey; and his parents-in-law, Jay and Beulah Arnold.

A funeral service for William Everding will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday October 17, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Titonka. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on Monday October 17, 2016, at the United Methodist Church.
