Randall Lee Winter, 61, passed away at his home in Forest City on August 9, 2016.

Randall Winter, the oldest of three sons, was born to George and Evelyn (Bappe) Winter on Christmas morning, 1954, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center, he graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1973. Having earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa in 1977, he completed a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1981.

On July 14, 1979, he married fellow graduate Lorie Albers (Bierle)in Buffalo Center. During their thirteen-year marriage, Randall and Lorie were blessed with two children, Kyle Patrick, born in 1983, and Rebecca Lyn, born in 1987.

He started and built his dental practice in Buffalo Center in September of 1981. As a dentist, he served the people of the surrounding communities for thirty-five years. He was very proud of his son joining the practice in 2010.

On July 17, 1994, Randall married LauraBeth (Heiens) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. He welcomed daughters Sarah and Jenny into the family. Randall and Laura worked together at the dental office, making the daily commute to Buffalo Center together.

The two took joy in traveling, especially to National Parks including Yellowstone in particular. Randy loved driving his Land Cruiser and spending time with his five grandchildren. A long-time Hawkeye fan, he held season football tickets for forty-three years. In addition, he enjoyed golfing and even once got a hole in one, although he mostly kept that one a secret.

Randall Winter is survived by his loving wife, Laura Winter; his mother, Evelyn Winter; his son and his wife, Kyle and Kelly Ruth Winter; his daughters and thier husbands, Rebecca and Bill Meyer, Sarah and Brett Coberley, and Jenny and John Kolb; five grandchildren: Kayla Coberley; Cody, Grace, and Jake Kolb, and Lillian Winter; and his brother and his wife, Bart and Medara Winter; as well as by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, patients, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, George Winter; his youngest brother and his wife, Kirk and Cyndi Winter; and his nephew, Alex Winter.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday at the Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
