Betty F. Bosma
August 9, 1926 - July 8, 2016

Betty Frances Krominga, a daughter of Amos and Pearl (Heifner) Krominga, was born on August 9, l926. She grew up and attended school in the Titonka area.

Betty married Henry D. (Hank) Harms on January 16, 1947. Together, they raised two children, Vicki and Bradley. On January 5, 1972, she married Marvin D. Bosma.

She retired after working for many years at the John Lande and Bob Hassebrock Insurance Agencies in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

Betty enjoyed relaxing outdoors on Marv’s family farm, going for long walks, reading, listening to music, and dancing to old-time music, especially to polkas. She loved visiting with all the members of her family and having coffee with her girlfriends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Buffalo Center.

Betty departed this life on July 8, 2016, at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Boyd (Robert), of Prescott, Arizona; her son, Brad Harms, of Des Moines, Iowa; her granddaughters, Shanda Harms, of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Elizabeth Thrasher (Brad), of Des Moines, Iowa; her great-grandchildren, Trevor, Trinity, and Buddy; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Harms, of Des Moines, Iowa, her sister, Donna Dunnavan, of Machesney Park, Illinois, and her brother, Roger (Mary), of Sun City West, Arizona; as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Henry Harms and Marvin Bosma; her sister, Diane Abbas; her brothers, Gene, Russell, and Paul Krominga; and her daughter-in-law, Marcia Harms.
