Terry A. Elthon, 55, of Fertile, died on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Terry Elthon, a son of Alan and Evelyn (Ziller) Elthon, was born on July 20, 1960, in Forest City. He attended Forest City Schools, graduating in 1978. In 1980, he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1990. Since then, he had worked for Winnebago Industries, Wellborn Industries, Phillips Laboratory, and KEO Consultants.

Terry, especially, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, skiing, dabbling in photography, riding his motorcycle along the Eastern shore, and rescuing Greyhound dogs. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Terry is survived by his mother, Evelyn Elthon, of Fertile, Iowa; his siblings, Susan (Steve) Hansom, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jane (Charlie) Thomas, of Littleton, Colorado, Nancy Palmsiano, of Grayslake, Illinois, Joe (Carmen) Elthon, of Tempe, Arizona, and Audrey (Mark) Charlson, of Edmond, Oklahoma; and his nephews and nieces, Nick (Kelly), Joshua, Chase, Colton, Kelsey, Hannah, Erik, Tyler, Oliver, and Calvin; as well as by many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Alan Elthon; and his brother, Andy Elthon.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark St., Forest City, with Father Jim Dubert, of St James Catholic Church officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Military Honors will be conducted by the Forest City American Legion. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Brush Point Cemetery in Rural Fertile, Iowa. Following the committal service, a picnic reception will be held at the Fertile Park. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.
