December 15, 1947 - April 03, 2016Noreen L. Heimdal, age 68, of Lake Mills, died on Sunday, April 03, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Noreen L. Heimdal, a daughter of Norris and Ilene (Walkner) Anderson, was born on December 15, 1947, at the Forest City Hospital. Baptized and confirmed at Asbury United Methodist Church where she remained a lifelong member, she attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1966.
On September 1, 1967, Noreen married Gary Heimdal at Brandon, South Dakota. To their union, three children were born: Tracy, Darcy and Rod.
Noreen had an upholstery shop in her home for several years before going to work at Universal Circuits in 1981. Then, she worked at Redinger Drug in Lake Mills before retiring in 2010. In addition, she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school as well as serving as a Brownie Scout leader when her children were young.
She enjoyed all types of crafts including needlework, sewing, and wood crafting. She, especially, enjoyed the time she and Gary spent camping at Bulrush Bay Resort at Shieldsville, Minnesota. Moreover, she treasured time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
Noreen is survived by her husband, Gary, of Lake Mills; her three children, Tracy (Chad) Doyle, of Lake Mills, Darcy (Jim) Roeder, of Buffalo Center, and Rod (Leslie) Heimdal, of Lake Mills; nine grandchildren: Kristen (Ian Stockberger) Cavett; Bobby, Jamie, and Willie Roeder; Holly (Alex) Rops; Gary, Jake (Genna), Jenny, and Zac (Chelsea) Thompson; and five great-grandchildren, Axl and Lincoln Campbell; Caitlyn Rops; J.D. and Karlie Thompson; and one more great-grandson on the way; three brothers and two sisters, Erbin (Sue) and (Glenda) Anderson and Linda (Don) James; and her brother-in-law, Tom Heimdal; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Ilene Anderson; her parents-in-law, Herbert and Lola Heimdal; her brother-in-law, Gerald Heimdal; and a nephew, Gary Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, with Pastor Bill Peters officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, April 4, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Inurnment will take place in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lake Mills.
