December 22, 1951 - January 18, 2016Surrounded by her loving family, Deb S. Kvammen, age 64, of Lake Mills, died on Monday, January 18, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.
Debra Sue Kvammen, daughter of the late Dorn and Jeanette (Johnson) Thompson, was born on December 22, 1951, in Forest City, Iowa. Baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, Iowa, she, also, attended school in Forest City. On June 23, 1984, she married Jeffery W. Kvammen at the Lake Mills Synod Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Known as a waitress at the Branding Iron as well as a homemaker, she had a passion for baking, spending time with family, and loving all animals. Most importantly, however, she wanted to share her faith with everyone around her.
She is survived by her children, Kim (Jeremy) Berg, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Kelly Menke, of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Dustin Menke, of Manly, Iowa; her two brothers and four sisters: Violet (Lawrence) Loeschen, of Titonka, Iowa, Dennis Thompson, of Thompson, Iowa, Robert Dusty (Cheryl) Thompson, of Currie, Minnesota, Doris Hatland, of Lake Mills, Iowa, DeEtta (Tim) Buns, of Wilmington North Carolina, and Barbara James, of Buffalo Center, Iowa; and her grandchildren: Jordan, Drew, Jayde, and Madison, all of Lake Mills; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jeff; her brothers, Keith and Nels; her sisters, Betty and Ruth; and her cousin, Barbara Rosen, and her nephews, Daniel Hanson and Todd Loechen.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Vinje, Iowa, with Pastor Spering Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street in Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Vinje, Iowa.
