Mrs. Marvin (Jeanette) Olson, 66, of Forest City, died on Monday, July 31, 1995, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Center in Mason City.
Jeanette E. Olson, a daughter of Johnny and Mabel (née Nelson) Boman, was born on September 25, 1928. Educated in the Forest City Community Schools, she went on to attend Waldorf College. Afterwards, she worked for the Forest City Bank and Trust Company.
Jeanette married Marvin C. Olson on September 9, 1950. To this union, three children were born, two daughters, Marilyn and Connie, and one son, Richard Olson.
Active in service to the community and her church, Jeanette served as treasurer and bookkeeper for the Forest City Ambulance Service, board member of the Forest City Neighborhood Food Bank, and a member of the Election Board. Active in various capacities at the First Baptist Church, she served on the Christian Education Leadership Committee and the Cradle Roll as well as on numerous women's service groups.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin C. Olson, of Forest City; her daughters, Marilyn Schreiber, and her husband, John, of West Concord, Minnesota, and Connie Morrill, and her husband, Randy Morrill, of Elko, Minnesota; and her son, Richard, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; three granddaughters, Anne, Britta, and Jenna; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Olson, of Forest City.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Gordon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Forest City with the Rev. John Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery, Forest City. The Petersen Lund Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
