October 25, 1929 - March 19, 2015

BUFFALO CENTER – Imogene E. Boeckholt, 85, of rural Buffalo Center, Iowa, died on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her home.

Imogene Emma Boeckholt, a daughter of Albert and Antonia (Leeck) Metzger, was born on October 25, 1929, in Kossuth County, Iowa. She attended rural schools in Kossuth County. On August 9, 1949, she married Wilbert Walter Boeckholt at Lotts Creek Immanuel Lutheran Church. Together, they farmed in the Buffalo Center, Titonka, and Burt areas before moving to Miller in 1963. In November of 1969, they bought a farm south of Buffalo Center where they farmed until they retired. After Wilbert passed away on October 30, 1994, Imogene continued to live on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and visiting with family and friends.

A member of Faith Lutheran Church in Miller, Imogene is survived by her daughter, Diane Boeckholt, of Garner; a sister, Joan Nemitz, of Fenton; and two nephews, Jerry (Lynette) Nemitz and Alan (Judy) Thilges; as well as by other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wilbert.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Rev. Joel Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
