Maxine was a loving homemaker and a hard working farm wife. She enjoyed flower gardening, camping, riding around the farm on her golf cart, and dancing. In fact, she met her beau, Raymond Oleson, at a dance over thirty-five years ago.
Taking care of her family over the years brought Maxine great joy. She always acknowledged birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and other special days with cards for all her loved ones. A wonderful cook, she made amazing German chocolate cake and beef roast among other specialties.

Maxine is also survived by Ray’s family: two daughters, Roxanne (Rick) Gordon of Plymouth, Iowa, and Shelly (Pete) Apel, and of Rudd, Iowa; as well as three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmie Nelson; her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Tenold; five sisters; and one brother.
