GARNER - Esther A. Nedved, 92, of Garner, died on Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Esther Ann Nedved, a daughter of Edward and Barbara (Paca) Trca, was born on August 22, 1922, on a farm south of Hayfield. She attended and graduated from Hayfield Consolidated School. On April 19, 1944, she married Charlie R. Nedved, Jr., at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They farmed south of Hayfield until 1951 when they moved to a farm near Miller. Esther worked at the Chuck Wagon Café in Forest City, the Garner Sale Barn, and in the Deli department at Bill's Family of Foods. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and loved her flowers.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, the Catholic Workman, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA).

Esther is survived by her two daughters, Paulette (Duane) Leerar and Geraldine (Gene) Baker, both of Garner; seven grandchildren, Michael (Jolene) Leerar, and their two children, Kayla and Jacob; Ron Leerar; Greg (Susie) Leerar, and their two sons, Tyler and Justin (Beth) Faber; Sherri (Rod) Halfpop, and their two children, Jamie and Jesse; Neil Baker; Mark (Wendy) Baker, and their three children, Alex, Molly, and Ryan; and Hope (Steve) Kimble, and their two children, Austin and Megan; her great-great grandchildren, Jackson, Brynlee, Harper, Max, Landyn, Brody, and Ava; and a sister-in-law, Marcella Erdmann, of Garner; as well as by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie R. Nedved, Jr., on August 12, 1980; a brother, Ernest (Emily) Trca; and a sister, Evelyn Marie Trca.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Fr. Dennis Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner, with a rosary at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
