Rachel Eliana Jensen was born March 2, 1864 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Jens Jensen and Mari Olsdatter, the eighth of their ten children. Rachel also had 4 older half-siblings. Her full siblings were: Martin James, Ole Berner, Lars, Peter Jens, Bertha Marie, Jens, Jens Bertinius, Jens Adolph and Lewis Adolph. Her half-siblings (her father was married twice) were: Berthe, Jens, Lars (Lewis) and Peder).

Rachel was baptized on October 20, 1864 at a home in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa as the Rock Creek Lutheran Church was not finished being built but her name appears in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church records.

Found in the 1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Jens Jenson 40, Mary Jenson 32, Martin Jenson 18, Peter Jenson 13, Betsey Jenson 11, Benton Jenson 8, Rachel Jenson 6, Lewis Jenson 1.

In 1881, her father sold his farm in Cedar township and moved to Center township, Winnebago, Iowa.

Rachel married Nels Eli Charlson abt 1882 at Winnebago, Iowa. The couple had 9 children although 4 did not lived to adulthood.

1885: Nils E Charlson age 26, Rachel E Charlson age 21.

1900: Selma C Charlson 42, Elana R Charlson 36, Ellen M Charlson 13, Nora J Charlson 11, Bertha C Charlson 6, Selma C Charlson 2, Rachel Charlson 7/12, Nels Charlson 88, Christian Dahl 28.

1910: Nels E Charlson 52, Rachel Eliana Jensen Charlson 46[48], Ella Charlson 23, Josie Charlson 19, Selma Charlson 13, Evelyn Charlson 10, Hazle Charlson 8, Nels Aarhus 27, Henry Giel 18.

Rachel Eliana Jensen Charlson died February 16, 1915 at Center, Winnebago, Iowa and is buried at the Winnebago Lutheran Cemetery, Winnebago, Iowa.
