Phyllis Lavonne Faber, age 75, of Forest City, died on Friday, March 3, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Phyllis Faber was born in Wallingford, Iowa, on March 28, 1930, the daughter Ordean and Adeline (Sandvig) Olsen. She received her education in Wallingford and graduated from high school there.

While attendng Waldorf College in Forest, she met her future husband, Delbert (Bud) Faber. The couple was married on May 28, 1948, in Wallingford. They made their home in Forest City their entire married lives.

Besides raising her family, Phyllis worked at Messer Pharmacy, the Graham Shop, and Stitchcraft. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church in Forest City. She enjoyed attending craft shows, knitting and crocheting. For over forty-five years, she treasured the friendships in her Birthday Club. She loved spending time with her grandkids and following their sports activities as well as keeping track of what was going on in their lives.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Alan Faber, and his wife, Denise, of Woden; four grandchildren: Josh Faber, of Clear Lake, Jesse Faber, of Woden, Andrew Faber, of Forest City, Lindsey Faber, of Ankeny, and Matthew Faber, of Beulah, Wyoming; her sisters, Ardice Walker, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Shirley Ness, of Omaha Nebraska; her sisters-in-law: Peg (Harry) Tjelta, Betty (Loren) Indvik, and Dorothy Faber, all of Forest City, and Shirley Baker, of Wallingford.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, James and Douglas, and a brother, Harley Olsen.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Rev. Jerald Swanburg officiating. Burial will be at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, March 6, 2006, at the funeral home and an hour prior to services at the church.
