Donald Teig
(November 15, 1917 - November 7, 2011)

Donald Teig, age 93, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota.

Donald Berge Teig was born November 15, 1917, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Ole and Martha (Berge) Teig. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and attended school in Blue Earth, Minnesota. On March 8, 1945, he married Lucille Mauss at Liberty Lutheran Church in Rake, Iowa. They had two daughters, Linda Diane and Barbara Jane. Lucille passed away on April 29, 1978.

On January 5, 1980, Donald married Valborg Maland Haugen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo, Minnesota. They had many wonderful years together, living between Wanamingo and Sun Lakes, Arizona. They enjoyed traveling and visiting their combined families and many friends.

Donald is survived by his wife, Valborg; his daughters: Linda (Randy) Buns, of Chandler, Arizona, and Barbara Brue, of Waukee, Iowa; his step-children: Ginny (Stan) Karbowski, of Shoreview, Minnesota, Cathy Faucher, of Fridley, Minnesota, Paul (Sue) Haugen, of Lutsen, Minnesota, and Sheila (Doug) Gehring, of Waseca, Minnesota; his grandchildren: Jason (Maggie) Buns, Heather (Ryan) Attleson, Jeremy and Jonathon Brue, Anthony, Zachary and Malachi Haugen, Nicholas and Natalie Faucher, Marit Karbowski, and Spencer Broughten; his great grandchildren; Hannah and Jacob Attleson, Chance and Sylvia Buns, and Maxim Haugen; his brother: Wayne (Opal) Teig, of Rake, Iowa; his sister: Ruth Edwards, of Buffalo Center, Iowa; his sisters-in-law: Edith Teig, of Titonka, Iowa, and Vivian Steinberg, of Rochester, Minnesota.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lucille; two brothers and three sisters; and his son-in-law, David Brue.

Donald will always be remembered for his sincerity, his love and concern for others, his humor, his passion for life and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 11, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo, Minnesota. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the church.

A private family burial will be at the West Cemetery in Rake, Iowa.
