Ida Marie Badker was born February 5, 1871 or 1872 (probably 1872) at Brandenburg, Mecklenburg, Vorpommern, Germany to parents Henry Frederick Badker and Ida Marie Francis Price (Pruess). She emigrated to Pittsford, Butler, IA with her parents and older brother in 1873. She married William Grant Ostrander December 10, 1890 and they had seven children. She died August 7, 1937 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, IA and is buried at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Thompson, Winnebago, IA.

Found in the 1880 and 1885 censuses living at Pittsford Township, Butler County, Iowa on a farm.

Ida recalled that she and her parents were born in Brandenburg, Mecklenburg, Germany. (There is a city of Brandenburg and an old German state called Branderburg.) After marriage, she and William raised seven children and lived various places in north central Iowa. They were some of the earliest residents as the town of Buffalo Center was formed.

Found in the 1900 census at Buffalo Center, Winnebago, IA: Says she emigrated 1873 and her birth was Feb 5, 1872: W G Ostrander 31, Ida Ostrander 28, Clarence Ostrander 8, Carle Ostrander 6, Mable Ostrander 4, Victor Ostrander 2, Irene Ostrander 9/12.

Found in the 1910, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1930 censuses at King, Winnebago, IA. Says she was born February 1872, immigrated in 1873.

Ida Marie Badker Ostrander was born February 5, 1871 (Believe this should be 1872)at Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany to parents Henry Frederick Badker and Ida Marie Francis Price. She came to America at age 1 with her parents and older brother. Grew up on a farm northwest of Dumont, Pittsford, Butler, Iowa. Married William Grant Ostrander on December 10, 1890 in Iowa. Moved to Woden, then Buffalo Center, then Thompson, Iowa areas.
She died at the hospital in Mason City, Iowa on August 7, 1937. Buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Thompson, Winnebago, IA.
Survivors include her husband and five children: Clarence, Earl, Robert, Mabel (Bullard) and Ruth (Granzow). Also one brother, William Badker and 3 sisters, Mrs. J. F. Russ, Mrs. Adolph Edgren and Mrs. Scott Pollock.

Victor (born September 11, 1897 Buffalo Center, Winnebago, IA, died October 3, 1901 at same place);

Irene Helen (born August 23, 1899 Buffalo Center, Winnebago, IA, married Garald William Wilson February 5, 1919 Thompson, Winnebago, IA, died June 24, 1928 King, Winnebago, IA);

Ruth Lavilla (born October 31, 1902, married Glenn Roy Granzow September 11, 1924 Minneapolis, MN, died October 2, 1993); and
