Funeral Services Held for Rollin T. Steinmetz

Funeral services for Rollin T. Steinmetz were held Thursday morning, March 13, 1952 at 10 o'clock at the First Congregational church, with the pastor, Rev. John D. Engels, in charge. Interment was in Hazel Green cemetery,
Ackley, Iowa.

Rollin Thomas Steinmetz, Sr., eldest son of Charles and Ida (Barret) Steinmetz, was born at Radcliffe, Iowa, in Hardin county on November 2,
1890. When he was seventeen years old, his parents and one brother passed away, all within a period of five months.

On June 4, 1917, he was united in marriage to Tjode Grothaus at Waterloo, Iowa. To their union three children were born, two sons and one daughter. Mr. Steinmetz served with the Army of Occupation in France during World War I. Following his discharge from the service, he established the Steinmetz Electric Shop in Buffalo Center. Here he continued to work and operate his business until two weeks before his death.

Mr. Steinmetz suffered a severe heart attack at his home on Sunday evening, March 2, which resulted in his death early Monday morning, March 10, 1952. He was very well known and respected in the community in which he had
resided and where he carried on his business for many years. He was a man of integrity and possessed a very quiet and unassuming disposition. Mr. Steinmetz was a good husband and a very devoted father to his family, and
will be greatly missed.

The following survive who deeply mourn his loss:
His wife; two sons, Lt. Col. Rollin Thomas Steinmetz, Jr., who is serving at Orleans, in Army stationed at Orleans, in France; and John Grothaus Steinmetz, at home; also, one grandson, Rollin T. Steinmetz, III. Also surviving is one brother, Edward G. Steinmetz of Williams, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, William Steinmetz. He also leaves to mourn his passing other relatives and his friends.

Steinmetz, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Moore, Algona, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Jno Cramer, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cramer, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lloyd of Clarion, Iowa; Dr. and Mrs. Waldo Schlampp, Eldora, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Winfield Schlampp of Ackley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schlampp of Ackley, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Leverton of Steamboat Rock, Iowa.
