John "Jack" Eisenhauer
(August 16, 1921 - April 2, 2010)

John “Jack” Eisenhauer, age 88, of Buffalo Center, IA, passed away on Friday April 2, 2010, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, IA.

John (Jack) Eisenhauer, son of August and Helen (Berschman) Eisenhauer, was born August 16, 1921, on the family farm near Buffalo Center, Iowa. He attended country school while helping his dad on the family farm. On September 26, 1946, Jack was united in marriage to Mary Baumann at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lakota, Iowa. Together, they farmed near Buffalo Center their entire married life.

He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for more than six decades serving on the church council and various committees. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and taking numerous trips with Mary.

In his later years, Jack moved to the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his many friends and visitors while playing cards and other games.

He is survived by 4 children: Jo (David) Hetland of Atlanta, GA; Marilyn (Jack) Mueller of Mason City, IA; Greg Eisenhauer of Turlock, CA; Sue (Brian) Thilges of Woden, IA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy Caltvedt of Rochester, MN; sisters-in-law: Pauline Eisenhauer of Buffalo Center, IA; Charlotte Baumann of Bancroft, IA; Catharina Eichenberger of Florida; and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; daughter Roxanne; sisters: Ann Abels; Cora Abels; Velma Eisenhauer; brother Harold Eisenhauer; brothers and sisters-in-law: John Abels; Joe Abels; Clifford Caltvedt; Fred Baumann; Ernest Eichenberger; Arlie and Lena Meyer; and Annie and Bruno Stecker.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 10:30 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center with Pastor Perry Aalgaard officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center, IA.

Visitation will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center, IA, from 5 to 7 PM on Monday April 5, 2010, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
