Helen Weaver, age 77, of Buffalo Center, IA, passed away on Thursday February 18, 2010, at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center, IA.

Helen was born on the family farm just outside of Easton, Minnesota, to George and Lola (Danks) Felber. She attended Minnesota Lake High School. She then became a homemaker for many years to come. Helen also took her pride and joy in the family store. She was a bookkeeper at Weaver’s Leather Store for many years. She enjoyed her work as the VFW Auxiliary Treasurer for 27 years and was awarded a plaque for her service.

She was united in marriage with LeRoy Weaver on November 25, 1961, and they were blessed in their marriage with two children, Audrey and Tim.

Helen enjoyed sewing, even making her own dresses for many years. She loved to travel, especially to Hackensack, Minnesota. The family had traveled to Hackensack for 15 years to meet up with other relatives.

Helen was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease in 1993 and battled that until her passing. She resided at Timely Mission Nursing Home since 2002. She is survived by: her husband LeRoy Weaver of Buffalo Center, IA; children: Audrey and husband Robert of Bettendorf, IA; and Tim and wife Julie Weaver of Buffalo Center, IA; grandchildren: Amanda King of Bettendorf, IA; Dustin King of Bettendorf, IA; Tanner Weaver of Buffalo Center, IA; Colin Weaver of Buffalo Center, IA; sisters: Esther Ryan of Janesville, MN; brothers: Bill and Shirley Felber of Jackson, MN; Jim and June Felber of Hastings, MN; brother-in-law Vern Amundson of Mankato, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters: Ruth Amundson and Kate Koep.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Buffalo Center, IA, Father Henry Huber celebrant.

Friends and Family may attend her Wake on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at Winter Funeral Home, Buffalo Center, and will continue 1 hour before the service at the church.
