(November 20, 1923 - February 20, 2010)

Kathryn Julius, age 86, of Forest City, IA, passed away on Saturday February 20, 2010, at Good Samaritan Home in Forest City, Iowa.

Kathryn Bonna Julius, daughter of August and Mary (Koppen) Becker, was born November 20, 1923, in Lakota, Iowa. She graduated from Lakota High School in 1940.

On July 18, 1947, Kathryn was united in marriage to Herbert Julius. This union was blessed with five children: Howard, Dale, Donna, Steve, and Kathy.

She enjoyed camping, playing cards and games with the grandchildren as well as gardening. Kathryn worked many years at Deluxe and at Stitchcraft.

Kathryn became a resident of Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa, in June of 2001. She remained there until her death on Saturday, February 20, 2010, surrounded by her children.

She is survived by her children: Howard Julius and special friend Linda Mason of Buffalo Center; Dale and his wife Mary Beth of North Liberty; Donna Cooper and her husband Robert of Forest City; Steve and his wife Susan of Solon; Kathy (Karl Quilling) of Chanhassen, Minnesota; her grandchildren: Troy, Alecia, and Allison Julius; Jamie (Tyler) Owen, Jay and Thomas Julius; Kathryn and Derek Juhl; Jarrod (Jese), Sarah, and Sonja Julius; Brooke Carlson; and Paige Popelka; and by four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband Herb in 2002 and by her four brothers.

Friends are welcome to greet her family on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center. A private memorial service will be at a later date.
