Joyce "Jo" E. Schrieber
(December 1, 1932 - March 14, 2010)

Joyce “Jo” Schrieber, age 77, of Lake Mills, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Joyce E. (Fritts) Schrieber was born on December 1, 1932, to parents Woodrow and Gladys (Karasek) Fritts in Lehigh, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1950.

On October 6, 1961, Jo was united in marriage with Neil Schrieber in Fort Dodge. The family resided in Fort Dodge until 1970 when they moved to Lake Mills. Jo worked at the Lake Mills Community School as a hall monitor and a cook, and she also worked as a cook at the Lake Mills Care Center.

Jo was active at Asbury United Methodist Church with the United Methodist Women, and she enjoyed playing bridge for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Neil of Lake Mills, IA; four children, James (Mercy) Berner of CA, Richard Berner of WI, John Schrieber of IA, and Julie (Scott) Yaeger of MN; three grandchildren, Christopher, Miranda and Madison; two brothers, Don (Drew) Fritts of OK, and Dale (Jolene) Fritts of IA; brother-in-law, Richard Cooper of WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kaye Cooper.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Lake Mills with Pastor Wendi Gillan officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

The family will greet others at the church one hour prior to service time on Wednesday.
