Leah Loraine Bowlsby, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 23, 2007 after a year long battle with health problems.

Memorial services will be private for family members and close friends at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5. Services will be provided by Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center, 13738 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375.

She was born November 17, 1929 on a farm near Duncombe, Iowa to Harriet Mosby Zimmerlin and George V. Zimmerlin. Leah graduated from Duncombe Community High School and Iowa Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa in 1949 as a registered nurse. She was married to Robert M. Bowlsby in 1952 residing in Ft. Dodge, IA, Webster City, IA, Des Moines, IA, Kansas City, MO, Honolulu, HI, Memphis, TN before settling down in Phoenix in 1961.She worked as a surgical, orthopedics, and pediatrics nurse, and later as office manager for Robert M. Bowlsby Associates, Landscape Architect/Planner. She was a long time member of the Assistance League of Phoenix, First United Methodist Church of Duncombe, IA, and the Ron’s Club of Phoenix, AZ.

Survivors include her husband Robert M. Bowlsby, daughter Robin L. Bowlsby of Phoenix, her brother William V. Zimmerlin of Prescott Valley, AZ., her niece Justy Moore of Denton, TX, and many more nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Robert and Dean Zimmerlin, and her sister Betty Moore.
