Obituary for Stanley M. ELM, published in the Fort Dodge Messenger, Friday 8 Sep 1989

Stanley M. Elm, 71, 2736 2nd Ave. N., died Wednesday afternoon following a short illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Allen e. Hermeier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1856. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home.

Survivors include daughters Carol Willey, Houston, Texas, Pat Packwood, Fort Dodge, and Debbie Krug, Otho; mother Agnes Gibb, and step-father, Milt Gibb, of Sebring, Fla.; nine grandchildren; brother, Harold, Florida.

Stanley Elm was born in Duncombe and attended schools there. He married Delores Hoover in 1941 in Cheyenne, Wyo. She died in 1980. He served in the Army in World War II, and the couple resided in Washington, California, Oklahoma and Wyoming. Following his discharge, the couple moved to Fort Dodge where he worked as an automobile mechanic until his retirement in 1975.
