Services for Elmer B. Elm, 84, Renwick, former Fort Dodge resident, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Dr. Palmer B. Wold, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Washington Lutheran Cemetery at Duncombe. Friends may call at Bruce Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Wednesday and until 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the church. Mr. Elm died Tuesday morning at North Care Center Humboldt, where he had been a patient since April following a stroke.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Eleanor) Swanson, Renwick; son Richard Elm, Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Elm was born in Sioux Falss, S. D., and educated there. He came to Webster City as a young man and married Minnie Davidson, in 1917 at Duncombe. Mr. Elm served in the U.S. Army during World War I. After service the couple farmed in the Duncombe, Vincent, Badger and Thor areas, and then in 1945 moved to Fort Dodge, where Mr. and Mrs. Elm were both employed at the former St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, until retirement in 1960. They then spent the winters in Florida.

The couple moved to Renwick in 1974 and Mrs. Elm died that same year. Mr. Elm made his home with his daughter until going to the nursing home last spring.
