Mrs. Emaline Sager died on Thursday, April 22, 1897, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Haines, two miles east of Promise City aged 82 years, 3 days. Her maiden name was Emaline Smith and she was born in Ohio, April 19, 1815. She married Abram Sager Dec. 31, 1835, and they moved to Linn County, Iowa, in 1852,and from there to Wayne County in 1853. Thee were 8 children born to them, 6 of whom are still living and all except one of them were present at the funeral which occurred last Saturday, April 24, at Promise City in the M. E. Church at 4 o'clock. The exercises were conducted by A. E. Clemens of this place.
