Obituary ~ Dorothy Eloise Hill
July 05, 1928 ~ January 13, 2012

Corydon Times-Republican
Coyrdon, Wayne County, Iowa
January 24, 2012

Dorothy Eloise Hill, daughter of Levi D. and Bessie (McClain) Hill was born at home near Woodland, Iowa, on July 5, 1928, and passed away at Corydon, Iowa, on Jan.13, 2012.

Although Dorothy was afflicted with cerebral palsy at an early age and wasn’t able to speak, she was a very ambitious and hard working person. She was happiest when she was busy. Dorothy made the Wayne County Care Facility her home for several years and was always busy dusting, sweeping the floors and helping with other housekeeping chores and felt very special when the staff let her help with the cooking.

After the Wayne County Care Facility closed Dorothy moved to the Corydon Nursing & Rehab Center where she remained until her death.

Two aunts, Irene Knapp and Margery Moore, both of Des Moines; cousins, Connie Hesmer of Des Moines, Dickie Bartlett of Seymour and Charles McClain of Promise City survive her.

Her parents; brothers, Hubert and John Willis and sister, Mildred Louise “Betty” preceded Dorothy in death.

Funeral services were held Jan. 19 at the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with Pastor Leroy Perkins officiating. Musical selection was “Amazing Grace.”

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.

Randolph-Black Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
