OBITUARY

Miss Isabel Anderson was born in Washington county, Penn., February 12, 1817, died at the residence of J. L. Alexander, Promise City, Wayne county, Iowa, Nov. 24, 1890. She was taken with la grippe about five months ago gradually sinking until the end came. She joined the United Presbyterian church in her youth, came west in 1851 when she joined the Presbyterian church of which she has been a faithful member until her death. She made her home with her sister, Mrs. Alexander. She was one of a family of 10 - three sisters and three brothers have gone before her while two brothers and one sister mourn her loss. She was one for whom all had the greatest respect. The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church at Promise City, where a large congregation assembled to pay their last respects. The service was conducted by Rev. Hancox after which her remains were laid away in the cemetery.
