Funeral Held Here For Early Resident

The body of Kessie Keller Hamilton, wife of the late William H. Hamilton, was returned here Wednesday for the funeral and burial Thursday. Mrs. Hamilton, 76, had made her home in Chicago with her daughter, Eva Alice Hamilton, since the passing of Mr Hamilton in 1944.

Long-time Seymour residents will remember Mrs. Hamilton as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Henry Keller. Mr. Keller was one of Seymour's first businessmen with a general merchandise store and he also was Seymour's first druggist. Miss Keller worked for her father, then was an employee of the Chicago Store and Lowry's Store.

In 1901 or 1902 Miss Keller took her mother and went west. In 1906 she was married to William H. Hamilton at Goodland, Kans. To the union two children were born, a son who died in infancy and Eva Alice. Mr. Hamilton died in 1944 and his body was returned to Southlawn cemetery for burial.

Funeral services for Mrs Hamilton were to be at the Liggett funeral home at 2 o'clock today, Thursday, with burial at Southlawn. Rev. Wayne Hoehns was to read the Episcopal rites.

Here for the funeral were Miss Hamilton and Mr. and Ms. J. K. Laufman of Trenton, Mo. Mrs. Laufman is a sister of Mrs. Hamilton.
