OBITUARY

Died, at her home in Humeston, on August 2, 1896, M. Francis, wife of George M. Babbitt.

Mary Francis, daughter of Oscar M. and Margarette E. Finch, was born September 5, 1860, at Nassau, Rensellaer county, New York. In early childhood the family moved to the western part of New York, where she resided until her marriage to George M. Babbitt, November 25, 1879. About four years ago they came to Iowa, and made Humeston their home. There were born to them two sons, Ray M. and Bronson L. Mrs. Babbitt was one of the noblest of women, and was loved and highly esteemed by everyone who knew her, and her death has caused many sad hearts. She leaves a husband, two children, father, sister and three brothers, who have the deepest sympathy of all in their bereavement.
