BRYAN, Norma Belva Mae, 91, of Corydon, Iowa, (formerly of Lineville, Iowa), died on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, with pastor Diane Olson Schroeder officiating. Interment was held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.

NORMA BELVA MAE BRYAN ... Norma Belva Mae Bryan, daughter of Oliver Franics and Flora Abigail [Vinzant] Williams, was born in Lineville, Iowa, on November 5, 1921, and passed away on January 6, 2013, at the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, Iowa, at the age of 91 years.

Norma was first married to Elven Hartley, Jr., and to this union one daughter, Cherilyn, was born. On February 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to Russell Walter Bryan. Russell preceded her in death on November 4, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cherilyn Prince; son-in-law, David Prince; three brothers, Duane, Auburn, and Vann Williams; and by a half-sister, Coyle Goodner. She is survived by two grandsons, Scott Prince (and his wife, Nikki) of Des Moines, Iowa, and Daniel Prince of Hollywood, Florida; three great-grandchildren; a stepson, Jerry Bryan (and his wife, Joyce) of Washington, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Joyce Young (and her husband, Jim) of Polk City, Florida; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.

Norma grew up on a farm and attended school at Carter Oak, Big Springs, Lineville, and Allerton where she graduated in 1939. She was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, receiving her teaching certificate. She taught school in the Elson, Sunnyside, and Pin Oak rural schools, and in the Grimes, Ankeny, Clio, Allerton, and Lineville schools. Her teaching career covered 43 years as a classroom teacher and 10 years as a substitute teacher. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, genealogy, and especially teaching.

Norma lived most of her life in Lineville, Iowa, where she was a very active and devoted member of the Lineville United Methodist Church, and a member of the Former Eastern Star in Lineville.
