Stephen Albert Norton, son of John N. and Esther Norton, was born in Champaign County, Illinois, Nov. 19, 1859, and died at his home in Humeston, Iowa, Nov. 27, 1921, at the age of sixty-two years and eight days.

He moved from Illinois to Humeston in 1891, and lived on the home place adjoining town until his death. He was preceded to the better world by one brother and his father and mother. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Kipper, remains to mourn his loss.

Brother Norton had been a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for many years, seldom missing a Church service. He was a kindly spirit, and of a peace-loving disposition. Even in his boyhood days, he had the reputation among his playmates of being a peace-maker.

He was a member of Chappaqua Lodge No. 121 and of Rebekah Lodge No. 146. At church and Lodge his presence will be missed by hosts of friends who will long cherish the memory of his friendly spirit and his sterling character.

Funeral services at the Church Tuesday at 2 P. M. conducted by his pastor, Rev. A. E. George assisted by the Rev. J. D. Pontius.
