Howard Henry the second child of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Altekruse was born in Ringgold Co., near Mt Ayr and lived there with his parents until the spring of 1912 when with his parents moved to Humeston, Iowa, and the spring of 1919 moved to Beaconsfield, Iowa, when on Jan. 24 he was stricken with flu pneumonia and bore up thru his sufferering until Feb. 7, when he was called to the better world.

He had such a kind and cheerful disposition.

He leaves a father, mother, one brother, Dennis Charles, one sister Pauline Ruby.

At the time of his death he was 8 years, 5 months and 5 days old. The little body was laid to rest in the Green Bay cemetery at Humestone, Iowa.
