Catherine Skala-Shalla, Francis Shalla-Karel-Eberle

August 28 , 1901 Obituary for John F. Shalla Sr. in the Washington Evening Journal, mentions his first wife Miss Skala. They had three children together. 2 boys and a girl who all resided in Nebraska. The girl was my Gr Grandmother Francis Shalla-Karel-Eberle. In the book The History of Gage County Nebraska, an article about Frank Shalla, born May 22,1853 in Bohemia the son of John and Catherine(Skala) Shalla who in 1856 came to this country and settled in Johnson Co Iowa until he moved to Washington County near Richmond, was written. He was Francis' older brother. Catherine died either during childbirth of Francis or shortly there after but I have not been able to find any information about her other than what I have shared and family records that she was my Gr.Gr.Grandmother. Francis was born 07 April 1859 Richmond Iowa. She was raised by her step-mother Mary Novy-Shalla. I believe she married very young to Joseph Karel. They had 5 children, all girls, 3 died in infancy. He passed in Nebraska and she married my Gr.Grandfather Jacob Anton Eberle. They owned land in Nebraska and Iowa. Their Son, Anton Eberle ran the farm in English River, Iowa. Any information that you can uncover for me would be greatly appreciated. I know so little about Catherine Skala how she died or where she is buried, or Francis during her early years and her life with Joseph Karel. Thank you Lorna Cherry
