In Response To: Lexington (John Barnett)

The town of Lexington was located in Cedar township. Not sure if an when any township boundaries were changed. Note other surrounding townships cited the Lexington Post Office in the 1870 census.

Westminister Cemetery was located in the southeast corner of Seventy Six Township. "The cemetery was turned into a hog lot, and some of the graves - but not all - were moved", as stated in the book, "In the Beginning There Was Land" by Kathy Fisher.

You can find some info regarding Lexington and a map to the cemetery on the Washington, IA GenWeb site. Check Town Histories and Maps to Cemeteries and use the Search Feature.
