Katie Ann, daughter of Michael D. and Lovina Shettler Miller was born near Kalona, April 21, 1881, and died at her home in Kalona February 4, 1966 at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 13 days.
On May 24, 1904 she was united in marriage to Charles Wertz, who preceded her in death November 21, 1957.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Ferne Whetstone of Kalona; two grandsons; six great-grandsons; two sisters, Nettie Gingerich, Wellman, and Mary Miller, Kalona; one brother, Eddie Miller, Tucson, Arizona.
An infant son, three sisters and seven brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the East Union Mennonite church.
Funeral services were conducted by George S. Miller and Robert K. Yoder at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6 at the East Union Mennonite church. Interment was made in the East Union Cemetery. The Peterseim Funeral service was in charge of arrangements.
