J. L. Warnock Dies At Home

Death Follows Three Years Illness
Had Lived on Same Farm 39 Years

Funeral services for John L. Warnock, 73 will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at Sherman’s funeral home. Dr. F. W. Eastwood, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will conduct the service, and burial will be at Elm Grove cemetery.

Mr. Warnock died yesterday morning at 1:15 o’clock at this home two and a half miles southeast of town where the family home had been the past 39 years. His death was sudden although he had been in failing health since a fall three years ago.

John L. Warnock was born Nov. 16, 1869, near Keswick, a son of Alexander and Agnes McCracken Warnock. He spent his boyhood at Keswick and attended the Keswick public schools. He was married to Sarah Jane Gilbraith March 20, 1900. Following their marriage they lived two years in the West Chester community and two years at Atkinson, Ill., before moving to their farm southeast of Washington. He had been a farmer his entire life.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Marvin of Washington; two brothers, James and Clark Warnock of Thornburg; a sister Mrs. Albert Molyneaux of Rose Hill. A daughter, Alice is deceased and a daughter died in infancy.

The body was taken to the family home this morning and will be returned to the funeral home tomorrow morning.
