Mrs. Sarah Warnock
Dies This Morning;
Rites Here Friday

Mrs. Sarah Jane Warnock, 78, of Thornburg, Iowa died at her home. She had not been well for several years but was ill only a few hours before her death.

Private funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Sherman’s funeral home. Dr. E. L. Haney will be in charge with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery.

The body will be brought to Sherman’s funeral home from What Cheer Thursday afternoon. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 o’clock to meet their friends. Friends may also call Friday morning.

Sarah Jane Gilbraith was born Feb 18, 1873 in Atkinson, Ill., the daughter of James and Sarah (Morrison) Gilbraith.

She was reared and educated in that community and was married in February of 1900 to John L. Warnock. He died Oct 3, 1943.

The Warnocks lived on a farm 2 ½ miles southeast of Washington form 1904 to 1948 when she went to Thornburg to make her new home with a cousin. She had spent last summer and fall with her son Marvin at Moline, returning to Thornburg last Saturday for the winter. She was of the United Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include a son, Marvin of Moline; one brother, James Gilbraith of Coal Valley, Ill. Two daughters preceded her in death.
