Carolyn S. Ford-Elmore, 56, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in Oskaloosa, from injuries received in an automobile wreck.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Carolyn S. Ford-Elmore

Carolyn S. Ford-Elmore, 56, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in Oskaloosa, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

A funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Hook Cemetery, in Brighton.

Visitation with the family is 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials for cancer research may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1205 Laura Drive, Lot 78, Forest View Trailer Court, Iowa City 52245.

Mrs. Ford-Elmore was born Oct. 22, 1957, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Duane "Tubby" and Marie Capps Lowe. She married Jesse Ford and they later divorced. She married Craig Elmore, July 24, 1992, in Golden Lake, N.D.

She grew up in Brighton and graduated from Washington High School in 1975.

She moved to Iowa City in 1999 and worked as a cook at Old Country Buffet for several years.

She worked as a housekeeper for Iowa River Landing Clinic in Coralville.

Survivors include her husband, Craig; five sons, Jesse L. Ford of Macon, Mo., Ronald Ford of Fresno, Calif., Victor Ford of Michigan and Craig Folts and Dominique Folts, both of Milford, Neb.; three daughters, Tillie Ford of Barns City, Kasandra Ford and spouse Patrick McCoy of Oskaloosa, and Labeka Hiatt and spouse Scott of Albia; Opal Lyon of Salem, Eta Weir of Kansas City, Kan., and Beverly Prickett of Wayland; and two brothers, Clarence Lowe of Washington, Iowa, and Clyde Milks of Hedrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Tim Lowe and James Milks.
