Victoria Jo Duensing

Victoria Jo Duensing, 60, of North Liberty, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 30, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A funeral Mass is set at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, followed by prayers for a Christian wake at 7 p.m. Memorials can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 2442 Teresa Drive SW, Cedar Rapids 52404.

Gould Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Duensing was born July 20, 1954, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph E. and Jean I. Miller Stalder. She married David Duensing in 1978, and they later divorced.

Mrs. Duensing grew up near Pleasant Plain, graduated from Fairfield High School in 1972 and from Des Moines Area Community College as a medical lab technologist.

She worked for Washington County Hospital and Cross Medical Labs in Iowa City for a number of years and was currently working for Mercy Hospital.

She was a New York Yankees fan and loved to work in her garden and yard.

Survivors include: her children, Lucas Duensing of Pleasant Plain, Alexis Duensing and husband Chad Steward of Cedar Rapids and Adrienne Jones and husband Steve of Columbia, South Carolina; three grandchildren; and three brothers, John Stalder of Jefferson, Kenneth Stalder of Huxley and Glen Stalder of Bellevue.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
