M. SPEVACEK, 73 DIES AT HOME IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Mrs. Mary Spevacek, 73, former resident here, died Saturday in Chicago. Mrs. Spevacek was born October 28, 1875, in Richmond, the daughter of Frank and Barbara Tellin. She was married to Vencil J. Spevacek, and they lived on a farm near Richmond until 1939 when they moved to Kalona.
Mr. Spevacek preceded her in death January 1, 1944. In 1947 Mrs. Spevacek fractured her hip, and she has been cared for in Chicago since September of that year.

She is survived by one son, Joe of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Cartwright of Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter, Mrs. Preston Edmondson of Kalona; and two brothers, William Tellin of Washington and Frank D. Tellin of West Palm Beach, Fla. One daughter, Mrs. John Shalla, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, July 19 at the Methodist church with the Rev. Lawrence Jones officiating. Casket bearers were Joe Kos, Paul Kern, Harry Strabala, Albert Stumpf, Vince Tellin and George Shalla. Burial was made in the Richmond cemetery with Yoder funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
