Mrs. Sarah Boileau died yesterday forenoon at 10:20 o'clock at the home of her son, J. N. Boileau, on East Third street, in this city, after a lingering illness, the aged lady having been bedfast for the last few weeks. Mrs. Boileau was born in Belmont county, Ohio, Feb. 11, 1824. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Willis, and one of a family of nine children, five of whom survive her. The surviving brothers are James Willis; William Willis; George and Joe Willis; and John Willis. Mrs. Boileau spent her early life in Belmont county, Ohio, and in 1847 she was married to James Boileau. The family came to Louisa county, Iowa, in the fall of 1858 and settled on a farm about five miles west of Morning Sun. They came to Washington in 1889. Mr. Boileau died in this city May 8, 1895. Nine children had been born to Mr. and Mrs. Boileau, five in Ohio and four in Illinois. Seven survive, two daughters having died in infancy. The surviving children are J. N., George, R. M., and Miss Mary of this city; Mrs. D. W. Jones and C. H. Boileau, of Haskins, and R. M. Boileau of Ottumwa. Mrs. Boileau joined the United Presbyterian church when she was a girl, and she remained a member to the end of her life. She was a consistent Christian woman, a good mother, and she departs to the world beyond with the record of having lived a good full life.

The funeral service was held this afternoon from the residence, in charge of the Rev. W. R. Sawhill, with interment in Elm Grove cemetery.
