Edward Vorel died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at the Iowa City VA Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Edward Elmer Vorel was born Aug. 25, 1919, in Ely, Iowa, the son of Louis and Agnes (Marsh)Vorel Survivors include his daughter Arlene and her husband Scott Johnston, and his two grandsons, Ethan and Taylor Johnston, all of Iowa City; and one brother, Leonard and his wife Delores, of Tiffin. Preceding Ed in death were his wife, Kathleen; one brother Marvin; and his parents Louis and Agnes.
