Mable Bower, 84 dies Wednesday

Mabel Bower, 84, of 621 E. Jefferson Street, died Wednesday, August 27, 1975 at the University Hospitals Iowa City. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for a month.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Sherman-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. John C. Fox officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Brighton.

Mrs. Bower was born Sept 3, 1890, at Gary, S.D., the daughter of Albert and Christina Baker Landers. She was reared and educated at Waterloo. On April 17, 1909 she married Floyd Bower at Sigourney. He died Sept. 14, 1961.

She had lived in Washington since 1919 and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Dale of Washington; three grandsons, Duane Bower of Omaha, Nebr., Robert Bower of Cedar Rapids, and Terry Bower of Camden, Del.; three great grandchildren and one brother, Leon Brown of Monroe, Wash.

She is preceded in death by her husband, one son and one daughter, both in infancy.
