Bower Babe Died at Wellman

The Death Angel visited the home of Floyd and Mabel Bower of Wellman and claimed as its victim their infant daughter Elmina Mae. She was taken sick about two weeks ago with indigestion and inflammation of the bowels and suffered intensely from the first. Everything possible was done to save the little one's life, but God saw fit to call her home to Him and on Friday, Oct 24, 1919 at 10 p.m. she passed away.

The family had just lately moved from Washington to Wellman where the father entered the blacksmith shop to work.

The remains were brot (brought) to the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bower, 4 miles north of Brighton and on Sunday afternoon, funeral services were held, conducted by Rev. Dewey of the Baptist Church of Wellman. His talk was taken from Matt. 18: 10-44 and Mark 5: 9-42. She leaves to mourn her death, father, mother, one little brother Dale, grandfather, grandmother and a host of relatives and friends. The little body was taken to the Grace Hill Cemetery for burial, followed by a goodly number of relatives and friends.

Alas! That lovely flower,
That bloomed and cheered our heart;

Fair, fleeting moment of an hour,
How soon we're called to part.

The family circle of her grandfather Bower had not been broken in 42 years until this year, death claimed 2 of the little grandchildren.

*****

We wish to thank the Lodge and other friends for their sympathy and floral offerings in our hour of sorrow.

Floyd and Mabel Bower,
Grandfather and Grandmother
and family.

(Elmina Mae 4/15/19 - 10/24/19)
