Lydia C. Gnagey, 85, of Wellman, died Wednesday, Jan 19, 2011, in Parkview Manor in Wellman from complications of leukemia. Mrs. Gnagey was born June 25, 1925, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Chris I. and Mary (Miller) Helmuth. She married Russell Gnagey on Oct 11, 1953, at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Yoder and husband James of Kalona, and Karen Gnagey of Kalona; one grandaughter; one brother, Daniel Helmuth and wife Reva; one sister Martha Schrock; for sisters-in-law, Dorothy Helmuth, Gladys Gnagey, Delores Leichty and husband Mahlon, and Geraldine Widmer and husband Dale. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec 8, 2010; one daughter Vivian Ockenfels; one son-in-law, Eugene Ockenfels; and five brothers, William, Andrew, John, Menno and Eli Helmuth.
