Wanda Mae Parcell, 59, dies

Wanda Mae Parcell, 59, of Birmingham, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been ill for several years.

She was born April 4, 1928, near Kirksville, Mo., the daughter of Glen and Mabel Shoemaker Miller. She married Clifford Parcell, April 22, 1951, in Washington and he survives.

Parcell was reared and educated in the Ainsworth area. She worked at Winga's in Washington and for 20 years at Woody's Restaurant in Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, Parcell is survived by a son, John, of North Liberty. Also surviving are two brothers, Roy Dean Miller, Wayland; Lewis Miller, Columbus Junction; and two sisters, Wilma Craig, Washington; Betty Hixson, Columbus Junction. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.

Funeral services for Wanda Parcell will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Family visitation will be 7-8 p.m. tonight.
Burial will be in the Clay Cemetery near Brighton.

A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
