November 27, 1977Death Takes R. Waggoner
Roy Waggoner, native of Jefferson County, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Clay Cemetery west of Brighton.
Roy Waggoner was born Jan. 9, 1889, near Brighton, the son of Jacob and Ella Gowey Waggoner. He was a farmer and lived his entire life in Jefferson County.
He was married June 2, 1912, to Ethel Watters at Washington. She died July 24, 1966.
Waggoner is survived by one son and three daughters: Gerald W. Waggoner, Fairfield; Mrs. Roy Nelson and Mrs. Kenneth Miller, both of Fairfield; and Mrs. Harold Hammons, Newton.
Other survivors include 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was the last of a family of 13 children.
