Leroy Frey Dies At 87

WAYLAND - Leroy A. Frey, died Wednesday at 6 a.m. at the Harmony Nursing Home in Mediapolis. He was a former resident of Wayland.

Frey was born May 3, 1886 at Archibold, Ohio, the son of Joe and Anna Wetzel Frey. Since age 18 he had been a section foreman or flagman on the CB&Q Railroad. He was a member of the Eicher Mennonite Church in Noble.

Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. David Richard, Mrs. Kathryn Nicholson and Miss Hattie Frey, all of Fairfield, and Mrs. Charles Rich of Winfield; two brothers, Newton of Pueblo, Colo., and Melton of Wheeling, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Beatty-Jennings Funeral Chapel in Wayland with the Rev. Harold Rixe officiating. Burial will be in the Eicher Mennonite Cemetery in Noble.
