Mrs. Brinton Rites Monday

BRIGHTON - Mrs. Homer Brinton, 86, of Washington, Ia., formerly of Brighton, died at 9:40 p.m. June 24 at Washington Care Center in Washington. She had been seriously ill the past three weeks.

Funeral services will be held at Sherman-Eden Funeral Home in Washington on Monday, June 27 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

Carrie Pickard Brinton was born Jan. 12, 1891 at Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Alexander and Rhoda Grov?? Pickard. She was reared and educated in Pleasant Plain and graduated from Academy there. She attended Pe?? College in Oskaloosa and Parsons College in Fairfield. She was married in 1913 to Homer Brinton and had been longtime resident of Washington County. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors are three sons, Homer L. Brinton Jr., Fairfield, Robert M. of Brighton, and Lyle P. of Washington, Ia., two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, ?? brother and a grandson.
