Lyle R. Triska

BRIGHTON - Lyle R. Triska, 86, of Brighton, died early this morning, Monday, Jan. 8, 1996, at his home. He had been in failing health.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Church of God in Brighton, with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be in Crawfordsville Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral HOme in Brighton. A general memorial has been established.

Triska was born in Kalona, the son of Joseph and Mary Liska Triska. He attended schools in Richmond and Kalona. On March 20, 1951, he married Marjorie Rita Deweese in Norwalk. He lived in Crawfordsville for 30 years, where he worked construction for 25 years in Iowa City and farmed. He moved to Blakesburg in 1973, then to Brighton in 1975, when he retired. He delivered the Des Moines Register in Brighton for eight years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Robert of Chula, Mo., Lyle of Mount Pleasant, David of Fairfield, Daniel and Ronald, both of Brighton; five daughters, Arlene and Charlene of Brighton, Darlene Harter of Fairfield, Marlene and Karlene Crossett, both of Washington, Iowa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter of North Hollywood, Calif.; nieces and nephews. An infant daughter, Christine, five brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
