Phyllis Jackson

Phyllis Jackson, 71, Fairfield, died Thursday evening at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines after an extended illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Deborah Kiesey officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery at Washington. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Iowa Cancer Society and the United Methodist church in Washington.

Mrs. Jackson was born July 11, 1915 at Coles County, Ill. the daughter of T.A. "Mike" and Pearl Hinkle Flenner. She attended Washington schools and Gregg College in Chicago, Ill. She has lived in Fairfield since 1962. She married John Jackson Dec. 18, 1962 at Burlington. He survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Margaret A. Sommerfield, Burlington, and three nephews.

Mrs. Jackson had worked as a secretary for Bankers Life in Des Moines, Farmers Mutual Insurance Association in Washington, and Parsons College and Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Comapny Service office in Fairfield. She was a member of the YWCA and United Methodist church in Washington.
