Mike Thomas rite Saturday

LIBERTYVILLE --- Dorsey D. (Mike) Thomas, 73, Libertyville, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 1989, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Suburban Heights Baptist church with the Rev. Ed Parker and Rev. Harold Baker officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A memorial has been established to his church.

Thomas was born July 2, 1915, in Fairfield, the son of Arthur and Carrie Viola Hull Thomas. He married Emma Lucille Miller July 14, 1935, in Memphis, Mo. He had lived all his life in Jefferson County and for 23 years was a resident of the Libertyville community, where he owned and operated Thomas’s Repair until his retirement. He was a farmer and mechanic and a member of the Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Sally Baker of rural Bloomfield, Sharon Reighard of rural Fairfield; two sons, Frank “Bud” of Fairfield, Bill of rural Brighton; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a step-brother, Clifford Thomas of Fairfield; two stepsisters, Helen of Keosauqua and Thelma of Albert City. Four brothers and two step-brothers preceded him in death.
